Anyone who wants to join Kindred is welcome. This includes people who have had COVID (with or without symptoms), are vaccine injured, and caregivers. Even those who’ve never had COVID are welcome to join.

Kindred aims to provide opportunities for anyone interested in contributing to research, no matter how involved they wish to be.
Simply responding to survey questions can provide information that leads to important insights. Engaging in conversation with others in groups may reveal new research topics that need to be investigated. And, finally, some people will want to participate in studies that are more involved.

Survey and poll data is used to reflect community sentiment and inform feature development. Anonymous usage data is used to continue to improve the app. We collect and use self-reported information only as needed to personalize the Kindred experience for you.
As a Kindred member, you may see opportunities to join COVID research studies. Before joining any study, you’ll get a detailed description of how your data would be used for research. This is to help you make informed decisions about your data.

Kindred is the latest product from Hugo Health. Co-founders Harlan and Leslie Krumholz formed Hugo Health in 2015 on a mission to transform healthcare by connecting people and data. This mission was a logical extension of both Harlan’s career as a leading clinician, scientist, patient advocate, and healthcare change agent at the Yale School of Medicine and Leslie’s track record as a social entrepreneur.
